We are excited to announce that Fairview Elementary School is piloting Academic Parent-Teacher Teams in grades K, 1 and 2! We will meet with all parents of students in those grades on three separate evenings this year. At those meetings, teachers will share expectations about specific academic skills that students must master during the school year. They will also be sharing fun activities for parents to do with their children to assist them in acquiring those skills. We want every family to come and join us in this exciting learning journey!
Today we had a Lockout and a Lockdown Drill. This can sometimes be a scary event for students but at Glenfair we prepare them for the drills in advance and work hard for it to be a learning experience for all our kids. Attached to the bottom of this page is some information that we sent home with students this week about our drills and processes in case of an emergency. We hope you can take some time at home to prepare for emergencies and talk about our drills today. Attending one of these required Digital Safety classes will allow you to quickly pick up your student’s iPad on roll out day (Tuesday, September 24th). You can also choose to complete the class online by going to this link and completing the course and the forms packet.
Beginning Monday, September 9th Hartley will have late start every Monday morning. School will begin one hour and 10 minutes later at 9:25am. Doors will open at 9:00am for breakfast. Buses will run 1 hour and 10 minutes later than normal.
Thank you Schoolhouse Supplies and CareOregon for the generous donation of school supplies and backpacks for every Hartley student. Our students were very excited to receive them!
The first day of school for 1st-5th grades will be Tuesday, September 3rd. Students returning to Hartley this year will not need to register for school as we did in past years. We will be sending home letters to all our new and returning families containing start of the school year information. I have also attached the letters below.
