Summer Programming Updates

Wednesday, July 16, 2025:

Due to the forecasted excessive afternoon heat, summer programs will dismiss one-hour early tomorrow, Wednesday, July 16, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dismissals will take place at:

Breakfast will be served at regular times. Lunch will be served one-hour earlier than normal.

Friday, July 11, 2025:

With high temperatures in the forecast for next week and beyond, we wanted to provide information about how decisions are made to cancel or modify summer programs. Each day we monitor the forecast for predicted daytime high temperatures, how fast temperatures are expected to rise, and any overnight cooling that can be expected. Our facilities and operations teams take steps to enhance cooling such as running HVAC systems overnight to maximize cool air circulation, and opening windows and doors early. 

Decisions to cancel or modify summer programs will be shared the evening before by 8 pm, or as soon as possible, via ParentSquare and our website. If no message is shared, summer programs will proceed as regularly scheduled.

High school athletics and activities are governed by OSAA’s heat index. Coaches will communicate with teams as needed to modify or reschedule practices and competitions.
