Are you or your student new to our state or new to this country?  If you are, then this event is for you!  Join us on September 23, 2017, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at H.B. Lee Middle School, 1121 NE 172nd Ave., Portland, OR, as we celebrate and learn about the many cultures we represent.  We will have plenty of school and community resources and information to answer questions about curriculum, transportation, food and more.

Camp Fire Columbia

The High School program dives deeper into post-secondary goal setting and goal achievement through mentoring, career and college readiness, community-based learning, advocacy, and activism. Our program focuses on identifying “sparks”, which are students’ self-identified passions that catalyze personal growth, as well as building and achieving a plan for post-secondary pursuits.

Local Schools' Summer Improvements

Press Release from Reynolds School District (Read full press release)
September 6, 2017

Most students in Reynolds School District are returning on Wednesday to campuses that are newly improved since school ended last year. District Superintendent, Linda Florence, expressed that she was “so pleased to welcome students across the District back to safer and more secure schools thanks to funding from the bond measure.”

School improvements include:

  • Ten schools have new, more secure entryways, exterior locking doors, and cameras. Two other schools received similar security improvements over the summer of 2016.
  • Students at Fairview, Troutdale, Wilkes and RHS return to big changes, as new elementary schools are under construction and major renovations continue at the high school.
  • In addition to the bond-funded improvements, many schools received improvements such as seismic upgrades, new kitchen coolers, driveway and playground upgrades, paid for by annual District funding.
