REA Bargaining Session Update: June 26, 2017

The sixth bargaining session between Reynolds Education Association (REA) and Reynolds School District (RSD) was held on June 26, 2017 at the Oregon Education Association Office from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Proposals were presented as follows:

Reynolds School District offered counter proposals on:

• Article 5 – Employee Rights
• Article 15 – Unpaid Leaves of Absence
• Article 17 – Substitute and Student Teachers
• Article 19 – Tuition, Project and/or Workshop Reimbursement
• Article 26 – Student Services and Special Education

REA offered counter proposals on:

• Article 5 – Employee Rights
• Article 17 – Substitute and Student Teachers
• Article 19 – Tuition, Project and/or Workshop Reimbursement

Tentative Agreement was reached on:

• Article 15 – Unpaid Leaves of Absence
• Article 17 – Substitute and Student Teachers
• Article 19 – Tuition, Project and/or Workshop Reimbursement

Discussion was also had regarding Article 9 – Teaching Hours & Article 27 – Class Workload but no counter proposals were exchanged during this session.

Next Bargaining Session:

• August 31, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Oregon Education Association (OEA) office in Gresham.

• September 11, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Woodland Elementary School Library.
• September 26, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Oregon Education Association (OEA) office in Gresham.
