Programs and Services
My name is Mr. Arthur Davis and this is my third year as a full time teacher. Previously, I was a substitute teacher for Garrison Elementary and the other schools in Oceanside Unified. Before that, I was a student teacher for a kindergarten class at South O. In 2010, I graduated from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a bachelor’s degree in music. I returned to UCSD to earn my Master of Education and Multiple Subject Credential in 2012.
Students from Sullivan's Period 2 Gallery Management Class planned an exciting event for all of us in the Fine Arts Department to enjoy. Two very different artists, one Christian Gabriel, painter and graphic artist, and Roger Peet, painter and print maker shared with us their artists stories.

ILLNESS/HEALTH RELATED ABSENCE >> Contact Maria Sanchez or Ashley Tran in the Attendance Office x1076
Please watch this great video about attendance and start making plans today for great attendance!
What is good attendance?
● Going to school at least 90% of the time, which means missing no more than 9 days for an entire year, or about 1 day per month.
● Missing two days or more per month is known as chronic absenteeism.
● We know that there are life factors including illness and family emergencies that cause students to be absent. When possible, it’s helpful to schedule appointments and celebrations outside of school hours.
Attendance matters for students at all grade levels! Students who attend school regularly have a better chance of building a strong foundation as they move from preschool/kindergarten to high school, and are more likely to read at grade level. Children who are reading at grade level by the end of third grade are more likely to graduate on time.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
“Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and on the job.”
Join us in congratulating the following Raiders for having outstanding attendance (above 95%) for the first semester!
Students will be recognized for their achievement during LUNCH on Monday, March 18th
May 8, 2014, is 5th grade visit day to HB Lee Middle School. Wilkes 5th graders will ride the bus to Lee during the day for building tours and elective forecasting.
