Job Search Tips for Teens

Before you start your job search, consider: 

  • Consider what you would like to do for a job
  • Make a list of places you would like to work and find out how to apply; ask about the minimum hiring age!
  • Take some time to explore job options in your local community
  • Get your paperwork and documentation in order (resume, work history dates, academic accomplishments, community service activities)

Find Your College Fit

Fairview Police Children Safety and Self-defense Class - FREE

Free Children Safety and Self-defense Class:

Saturday, June 10, 2017 the Fairview Police Department is offering a FREE safety and self-defense class for kids at Fairview City Hall Council Chambers, 1300 NE Village St., Fairview, OR.  This class will teach three key points of self-defense:  

Oregon Promise Grant (Free/low-cost tuition at an Oregon community college)

Oregon Promise is a grant program provided through Oregon Student Aid/HECC. The Oregon Promise Grant (OPG) provides students who qualify with free to low-cost tuition at any community college in Oregon (some exclusions/limitations may apply).

To qualify for Oregon Promise, students must:

Being involved in community service activities and volunteering in your local communities will help you build a strong resume that looks exemplary on college and scholarship applications! Make sure to keep track of your hours on the RHS Community Service Log. Students who perform 250+ hours of qualified community service activities throughout high school (GR 9-12) can earn the silver Extra Mile Honor Cord to wear at graduation.

Scholarships

Check out all of these scholarships, but you can only get the ones you apply for. If you don't apply, there's a 100% chance of NOT getting the scholarships!
