Dale Krueger Scholarship DUE April 1st; OPENS: January 1st* (extra requirements apply; this scholarship will be ready for RHS students in February*) - Current RHS seniors & RHS recent grads to age 21 are eligible to apply. IMPORTANT: Additional materials are REQUIRED for current seniors and former graduates.

• $2,000 renewable scholarships (may renew up to 3 additional years for students who maintain GPA/minimum credit requirements-total $8,000).
• Open to Reynolds High School students and recent RHS graduates to age 21; check with Shannon Selby in the College & Career Center for requirements and detailed instructions for submitting complete applications and supplemental materials. 
• The online scholarship application and required materials are due right after we return from spring break, so it's strongly recommended that you request required documents (ie: transcripts, letters of recommendation) from school officials prior to spring break to avoid last minute stress!
• This scholarship opportunity is provided through a generous trust established by Mr. Krueger for students current seniors (and recent graduates to age 21) from Reynolds, Gresham-Barlow & Centennial School Districts only.

MHCC Foundation High School Scholarship - DUE March 31st - One well-deserving student from RHS will be awarded a full year of tuition at MHCC for the 2022-23 school year...all you have to do is APPLY! Complete the General Admission Application here first, then sign in to your MyMHCC account to apply for the MHCC Foundation scholarship. 

Eligibility: 
• Must be a recent graduate from a public high school in the MHCC district
• Must be a first year student (0-35 credits completed) when the scholarship takes effect
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
• Must demonstrate financial need via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Oregon State Aid Application (ORSAA)

REA (Reynolds Education Association)-Kathy Schuman Memorial Scholarship-DUE in April or May each year; application available in early spring 2024: REA (Reynolds Education Association, your Reynolds Teachers' Union) desires to assist 2 graduating seniors or recent graduates who intend to pursue a career in education at any level. The application is usually available in April/May each year. Amount: $500.00 per year; renewable upon request for up to 4 years. 

ELIGIBILITY requirements:  

• Be a graduating senior of Reynolds School District this year or have graduated from Reynolds within the past 2 years
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Intend to pursue a career in education at any level (eg. teacher, counselor, education assistant, speech pathologist, translator, etc.)
• Enroll as college student (6 credit hours or more)
• Attend a 2 or 4 year accredited post secondary institution

Strada Financial Group-Financial Literacy Scholarship - DUE DATE: May 1st - For more details about the scholarship and requirements, click HERE. Apply HERE. at Each year, Strada Financial Group awards scholarships to the top FOUR applicants who submit the best presentation about ways to help fight financial illiteracy and actions they’ve taken to help others in the community learn more about becoming financially educated. This scholarship is open to  graduating seniors in Reynolds, Gresham/Barlow, Corbett, Estacada & Centennial school districts. Scholarship money can be used at an accredited college, university or trade school. Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was created to help break the cycle of addiction within families by supporting students to achieve their dreams of attending college and furthering their education. The students awarded are extremely resilient, which is shown through their effort in school and service work. 

Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA-Portland Lodge) - Open to students of ALL ethnicities; eligibility requirements differ for each opportunity, so make sure to check the requirements before applying! For many decades, members of the CACA Portland Lodge have worked hard to raise funds to support their mission of developing leadership, providing service to the community, and promoting civil rights. These scholarship and essay contest opportunities are provided to help students further their educations, and provide a forum for the expression of thoughts and ideas of high school students. Applications and instructions for all five of the following opportunities are available on CACA's scholarship website. 

1. National Essay Contest - The goal of this competition is to build leadership skills for young community leaders of tomorrow by refining good English writing skills, while demonstrating the ability to present clear, logical thinking on an issue of current national relevance. Applicants must write a 500-word English themed essay within 1.5 hours on a topic to be announced at the start of the competition. Essays will be evaluated by a national board of judges and scored on originality, clarity of thought & expression, and correctness of grammar and spelling. The competition is open to ALL high school students in the United States. 
2. David Lee Quan Memorial Scholarship - DUE April 1st - One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has volunteered in a medical/healthcare setting and intends to major in the healthcare field. 
3. Fred G. Lee Memorial Scholarship - DUE  April 1st - Four scholarships will be awarded: at least one to a student who attends a college in Oregon or Washington state, and one scholarship will be for a student going to a trade school or community college. Scholarship recipients will be judged on the following: scholarship application, leadership in school, and community activities. Being active in school and community activities, especially in leadership roles is particularly important.
4. Sheung Mou & Fenge Tam Scholarship - DUE April 1st - One scholarship will be awarded for a first generation student of any ethnicity, and based on the following: scholarship application, leadership in school and community activities. 
5. Tiffany Wang Arts Scholarship - DUE April 1st - Two (2) students in GR 9-11 (not open to seniors) will be selected to receive $500 awards to use toward the cost of attending a summer arts program. This scholarship encompasses these art forms: visual art, dance, drama, music, vocal & instrumental.

• Creatively respond to this prompt (record a video performance)
  • Submit a video performance (3-minute max) of your own ORIGINAL poem, song or rap by the deadline. Entries will be judged on creativity and lyrical content over video quality and production. 

Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber Scholarship -   DUE in JANUARY - The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber offers scholarships to high school students of Hispanic ancestry in Oregon and SW Washington with 3.0+ GPAs. Students must be enrolled in a full-time college/university program for Fall 2023. Applicants will be evaluated on academics, extra-curricular activities, community service, written essays and letter of recommendation. 

Jiffy Lube Teen Driver Scholarships (essay contest) - DUE in MARCH- The Jiffy Lube "What Drives You?" High School Scholarship program (open to students in 11th & 12th grade) allows students to express their "inner drive" and personal ambitions with a simple, 500-word essay. Finalists will be selected from the 500-word “What Drives You?” essays. Each finalist will be guaranteed a minimum $1,500 award if they create and submit a unique 1-2 min. video that expands on their essay in their own candid words, visuals, etc. 

A separate "Your Turn Behind the Wheel" scholarship program is open to students in 9th & 10th grade. Print a Teen Driver VIP Discount card today for $20 off Jiffy Lube Signature Service oil changes (no purchase/application required). 

Missing Piece Scholarship - $1,000 for college

Eligibility: 

• U.S. citizens accepted to or currently attending a college or university within the United States.
• Winner will be required to provide proof of acceptance to your college or university or a college transcript.
• The award recipient will be notified of the selection shortly after the deadline.
  • The scholarship award is to be used exclusively for school tuition or related expenses.
  • A check for $1,000 will be made payable to the award recipient’s college or university.
  • The recipient is expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.

OppU Achievers Scholarship DUE quarterly (Sept 30, Dec 31, Mar 31, June 30 - awarded four times/year :  The OppUAchievers Scholarship provides $2,500 to high-achieving students for tuition costs. To be eligible, students must be a U.S.citizen and have a 3.0-4.0+ GPA

Oregon Music Hall of Fame Scholarship - DUE in February- Four High school graduates will be selected to receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship award. Students must attend college in Fall 2023 with a minor/major in music. The application can be downloaded here. 

OSAC Scholarships (Office of Student Access & Completion) - DUE by 5:00 PM on March 1st (PST); early bird deadline: submit by February 15th - Apply for hundreds (500+) of scholarships and up to $10M in scholarship awards by completing ONE application. Pointe Pest Control "Pay it Forward" Scholarship - DUE in April - A one-time scholarship award of $750 is available to current seniors and freshmen in college. Late & incomplete applications WILL NOT be considered. 

1. Do something good for someone else and include a note asking them to pass it on

2. Complete the scholarship application in full HERE

3. Play the Pointe Pest Control game and take a screen shot of your high score.

Renaissance Scholars Program - The Renaissance Scholars Program offers a RENEWABLE scholarship for high-achieving, first-generation college students with financial need. Up to $4,000 awarded annually (max. cumulative award up to $16,000).  

Eligibility:

• Plan to earn a bachelor's degree from an accredited US 4-year college/university
• Graduate in spring 2024 or be an incoming freshman/sophomore student at a 4-year college/university
• First-generation college student (neither parent has achieved a bachelor's degree or higher)
• Have significant demonstrated financial need (as evidenced by FAFSA/ORSAA) 
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0+
  • _{In addition to the above requirements, students should demonstrate leadership potential, a concern for others and a strong work ethic. These qualities can be demonstrated through participation in volunteerism/community service, membership in clubs, community organizations, paid/unpaid work or family responsibilities. SchoolHouse Connection - DUE October 15th by 11:59 PM - Provides $2,000 scholarships, plus advocacy, leadership and skills training for students who have experienced homelessness within the past six years. Open to current seniors, those in GED programs or students taking a GAP year. Must live in US; undocumented students who meet the above criteria are eligible to apply.

Dell Scholars Program - Recognizes academic potential and determination in students that have a definite need for financial assistance. Ford Family Foundation Scholarship Program - The Ford Scholars Program offers a comprehensive scholarship to help students succeed in college and beyond. Gates Millennium Scholars - Provides outstanding low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline they choose. 

PCC Future Connect - DUE March 1st - PCC Future Connect is a scholarship program for first generation and/or low-income students to attend PCC with intensive supports as they transition from high school to college. PCC Future Connect offers students access to free classes, an academic support coach, internships, jobs, study abroad programs, and transfer & even full-ride scholarship opportunities to many Oregon universities. The program offers enhanced supports for high school students as they transition to college.

EduMed Scholarships - EduMed helps students in medical and health education with four need-based college scholarships. Each scholarship will give $500 to the winning student in their respective category, which will be paid to the school at which they’re enrolled. 

Kaiser Health Care Career Scholarship - The Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship Program aims to empower healthier communities by helping students in Oregon and Southwest Washington achieve their dreams of going to college and becoming health care professionals. Kaiser Permanente is committed to offering $5,000 & $10,000 college scholarships to selected high school seniors who attend one of the 140 eligible high schools in the Kaiser Permanente Northwest service area.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student (MVS) - DUE November 15th by 11:59 PM - For more details; Register & apply HERE. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships (Elks Most Valuable Student-MVS) to the highest-rated applicants in the 2022 competition.

• Awards based on academics, leadership, community service & financial need.
• Male and female students compete separately.
• Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student (MVS) scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. First Community Credit Union Founders Scholarship - DUE April 1st - First Community Credit Union is a financial cooperative, and one of their core values is supporting local communities. The First Community Founders Scholarship was established to help support students within their local communities better afford the cost of higher education by offering twenty (20) $3,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate college students.   • To APPLY for a First Community Credit Union Founders Scholarship, just fill out the online application, upload a copy of your most recent high school or college transcript, and provide two letters of recommendation (one must be from an instructor or mentor). The application requires you to describe your school activities, community involvement, leadership experience & employment history, as well as any outstanding awards & accomplishments. A short written essay and personal statement are also required (500 words; 5,000 characters max each). SAT/ACT score reporting is optional.

KMR Group Foundation Scholarship - DUE in April - The KMR Group Foundation seeks to recognize accomplished students, invest in their potential, and assist them in funding their education. Every spring, the KMR Group Foundation awards a number of scholarships to seniors graduating from high schools in Southwest Washington & Northwest Oregon. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,500 per school year and may be renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient conforms to the requirements set forth in the award. Eligibility and full details attached below under "Supporting Documents." 

ELIGIBILITY requirements:

This scholarship may cover up to 4 years of undergraduate learning at Clark College, Lower Columbia College, or Mt. Hood Community College

Renaissance Scholars Program - DUE February 1st - The Renaissance Scholars Program offers RENEWABLE scholarships for high-achieving, first-generation college students with financial need. Up to $4,000 awarded annually (max. cumulative award up to $16,000). 

Save the Everglades Scholarship - The Florida Realty Marketplace is offering a scholarship opportunity to current high school and college students interested in attaining a degree in science or political science. Students studying biology, conservation, ecology and politics can apply for a one-time scholarship award of $500 to preserve the Everglades and other national treasures.  One scholarship award will be granted based on GPA, extracurricular involvement and responses to the questions on the application. ACT Six Portland/Salem - An initiative of Portland Leadership Foundation, Act Six is Oregon’s only full-tuition, full-need community leadership award. Act Six will select approximately 25 of the Portland-Salem region’s most promising urban leaders for scholarships to three local partner colleges (George Fox University).

Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship - The Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship award ($2,500 per year for 4 years) for an Oregon high school senior from a family affected by alcohol or drug addiction. 

Beat the Odds Scholarship - Are you an Oregon public high school student who has succeeded academically despite hardships such as poverty, disability, homelessness, or personal tragedy? Stand for Children will award deserving and outstanding students who have "beat the odds" a $4,000 renewable scholarship.”  

Central East Portland Rotary Scholarship - Graduating seniors from Reynolds, David Douglas and Parkrose High Schools are eligible to apply for $2,500 (renewable) scholarships (up to $10,000 total) offered by the Central East Portland Rotary. To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or ORSAA (Oregon Student Aid Application). Students must also plan to enroll as full-time students in a program leading to a degree or certificate of completion and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA each term/semester.  

Dale Krueger Scholarship - Online application OPENS: January 1st; DEADLINE: April 1st by 5:00 PM. Complete the ONLINE APPLICATION in the Dale Krueger Scholarship Portal. Current seniors and recent graduates (to age 21) can apply. Jiffy Lube “What Drives You?” scholarship program - DUE March 10th, 2023-Local Jiffy Lube owners are offering one $4,500 scholarship award and  three $1,500 scholarship awards to 4 local high school students – "What Drives You?” – there is no minimum GPA or test score requirements. Open to high school students in Oregon/SW Washington. 

Program Overview: Four finalists will be selected from the 500 word “What Drives You?” essays submitted.  Each finalist will be guaranteed a minimum $1,500 award if they create and submit a 1-2 minute video that expands on their essay in their own candid words, visuals, etc.  The overall $4,500 scholarship winner will be chosen from these videos.  APPLY online by clicking HERE. Music & Performing Arts - Oregon Music Hall of Fame Scholarship - DUE February 14th, 2022 - Four CO2022 high school graduates will be selected to receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship award. Students must attend college in the fall of 2022 and minor/major in music. The application can be downloaded here. Oregon Fine Arts Scholarships (Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs-OFWC) - Annual scholarship contest for high school seniors (Oregon residents only). Entry forms for each category can be found for the specific contest you wish to enter by using the links below. Scholarship awards may be used for college tuition (in any subject) at an accredited school of higher education.

One scholarship will be awarded in each of the following areas: 

1. Violet Lang Instrumental Music Scholarship - $500
   • Instrumental-video/performance (max.10 mins long; no more than 3 selections)
2. Violet Lang Vocal Music Scholarship - $500 
   • Vocal-video/performance (max. 10 mins long; include a classical song & a song of your choice) 
3. Visual Art Scholarship - $400
   • Visual Art-submit an original picture electronically (any medium acceptable); must be accompanied by a statement containing the artist's name, school, medium, title & a brief descrption about the artist's inspiration for the piece).

Technology - ACPE Northwest - DUE February 20th by 5 PM - Each year, ACPE awards up to $15,000 in scholarships  to graduating seniors in OR/WA  who plan to pursue technology degrees in higher education. Successful applicants have studied and used technology in innovative ways throughout their high school career and can demonstrate their work through a project. Chegg- Chegg is widely known for its online textbook store that allows students to either rent or buy textbooks for cheap. But Chegg is also a great resource for finding scholarships — more than $1 billion worth of them. To search for available scholarships, go to ‘colleges’ at the top of the homepage and then click ‘scholarships’ in the drop-down menu. Once you create a personal profile, you can search for available opportunities that match your criteria. Chegg also has a ‘top scholarship picks this week’ category that highlights some options you may have missed.

College Board - While the College Board is known for its college planning tools, it also has an arm that focuses on scholarships. Big Future hosts scholarships, as well as other financial aid and internship information from more than 2,200 programs — totaling nearly $6 billion. In order to get the most accurate search results, it’s critical to fill out as many details as you can in the profile that’s used for searching.

CollegeNET - When you go to the site’s homepage, go to the top right corner to search college scholarships. From there you can either search by specific keywords or create a personal profile in order to get the most accurate matches that fit your needs. Once you make a profile, you create and save lists of opportunities you’re interested in.

Peterson's- Peterson’s hosts $10 billion in scholarship opportunities and also provides information to help you in your search. Once you fill out a short survey, you can filter your search results so they’re tailored to your specific needs.

US Labor Department Free Search Tool (CareerOneStop toolkit)  According to the official Student Aid website, this free tool is a great resource for students to search more than 7,500 scholarships, grants and other various types of financial aid award opportunities. The CareerOneStop tool allows you to look through the site’s entire inventory of scholarships, arranged in order of closest deadline. Narrow your list with a “search by keyword” option: Just enter a keyword about the type of award you’re looking for.
