WHO IS DALE KRUEGER?

Mr. Krueger used to own the truck stop and restaurant down in Troutdale, and he hired many students to work for him. He valued education, and rewarded his employees for having a strong work ethic, integrity, motivation, initiative, and going above & beyond. Unfortunately, Mr. Krueger was killed in an auto accident just before his 57th birthday. To honor his name and uphold his legacy, a Trust was created to offer "worthy and ambitious" students from three East county school districts. Each year, students & recent grads(Reynolds, Gresham/Barlow & Centennial School Districts the opportunity to compete for generous, annual, renewable scholarships to help pay for educational costs at accredited post-high institutions (certificates/degrees at colleges, universities, vocational & trade schools).

Dale Krueger Scholarships are not always awarded to students with the highest GPAs, best grades, or taking the most AP classes. Scholarship awards are based on the quality of each student's application, and how "worthy & ambitious" they are based on evidence provided throughout their application materials.
