Chicken Pox at Troutdale

There have been five reports of students at Troutdale Elmentary having chicken pox. Three cases have been confirmed by health care providers.  Multnomah County Communicable Disease Services have been notified and an advisory letter has been sent home to alert parents of the possible exposure and instruction for monitoring for symptoms of chicken pox.

Parents should inspect their child’s skin daily and monitor temperature through December 29, 2015. Children who develop a rash need to be kept home to prevent the spread of chicken pox.

Reading at Home is Important

Reading is important and the only way to get better is to practice.

La lectura es importante y la única manera de mejorar es practicar.

To keep progressing as a reader, it is very important to read at home every night. The goal should be 30 minutes per night at your independent reading level. If you are a yellow, green, blue, or 1 Red reader, it is fine to have a family member read to you for 15 of those minutes.
