Four groundbreaking events celebrate new elementary schools and RHS improvements

Wilkes, Troutdale and Fairview elementary schools are getting ready for construction to begin on brand new schools on the existing sites. Reynolds High School will receive significant renovations and additions. Work will start during spring break and will be completed in phases, with final completion by fall 2018. The upgrades are made possible thanks to voter approval of a 2015 bond measure. All district schools will receive safety and security updates.

Free Childrens Dental Health Fair: Sat. Feb 4, 2017 10am - 2pm El sábado 4 de febrero se lleva a cabo la Feria De Salud Dental Infantil de 10am a 2pm en Reynolds Middle School, en 201st avenue.

Dear Reynolds Family,
Saturday, Feb 4 is the Childrens Dental Health Fair from 10 am to 2pm at Reynolds Middle School on 201st, please Enter from the North Halsey Street entrance.  This event includes lots of free health info and health screenings, such as immunizations, dental exams and treatment, hearing, vision screens, lots of goodies including lunch!  A free raffle for a gaming system will also be held at the end of the event. The weather will be clear by tomorrow so the event is happening. See you there.

Important! Parent Pick-up and Drop-off Information!

IMPORTANT:

For those families who drop off and pick up your students, we have procedures and rules in place for the safety of your children.  Please follow these rules:

  • Only drop off or pick up your students on the concrete strip, and please pull as far forward as possible
  • DO NOT drive in the bus lanes right in front of the school
  • DO NOT leave your vehicle if you have not parked in a stall

2017-18 Kindergarten Students

Do you have a 5 year old on September 1? If so, sign up here to receive kindergarten enrollment information. Neighborhood schools host open house and enrollment events in the Spring (usually Mid April to Mid May). We will email and call you with details when they are confirmed.

Contractors Selected for Reynolds School District Bond Projects

Reynolds School District selects Bremik Construction, LCG Pence Construction, Skanska USA as general contractors for school bond construction projects.   

General contractors have been selected for the Reynolds School District 2015 Bond Projects. LCG Pence Construction will make major renovations and additions to Reynolds High School. Skanska USA will replace Fairview Elementary School and Wilkes Elementary School. Bremik Construction will replace Troutdale Elementary School and construct safety and security upgrades in all other district schools.

The three new elementary schools will be built on their existing sites while students continue attending their current schools this year and during the 2017/2018 school year. Old schools will then be taken down and outside fields / play areas constructed in their place, while students attend the new schools.

Additions and renovations in Reynolds High School will be staged to allow students and programming to continue within the school during construction.

“Completing these major projects successfully with minimal impact to students and staff is a complex puzzle with many moving parts,” says District Superintendent Linda Florence. “The District selected the contractors based on their ability to uphold the highest standards of safety during construction and to deliver the projects on time and within budget.”

Families of 8th grade students are invited to Reynolds High School on February 28 from 5:30-8:30 pm for their incoming freshman.  You will be able to get help forecasting, take a tour of the building, talk to coaches and teachers and see awesome student projects.  A free dinner will be provided.
