Volunteer Posting for Woodland SUN

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

SUN Community Schools are school-based delivery sites, which provide a comprehensive set of services including educational, enrichment, recreational, social and health services. Woodland Elementary is looking for dedicated volunteers to work with students during our fall programing. Come be a part of a team working with students grades 1-5 achieve academic success and participate in enrichment opportunities.

BIRTHDAYS:

We recognize that a student’s birthday and/or holidays can be big events in their young lives. In accordance with School Board Policy, Woodland is required to ensure that all foods served meet the requirements of the district’s nutrition policy. To honor your child, we will give your student a birthday card and pencil and your child’s teacher will announce his/her birthday in class.

In an effort to connect more contractors to the 2015 Reynolds Bond Projects and other projects in the Portland area, the Local & Diverse Partnership Program and Metro will be hosting an event on Tuesday, September 27 from 3:00 - 4:30 PM.

Late Start Every Monday!

The 2016-2017 school year will have "Late Start Mondays" instead of early release. Starting September 12, 2016 through June 12, 2017, every Monday that school is in session there will be late start for all schools in the district. 

This means that school will start 1 hour and 10 minutes after the regular start time.

In keeping with the district’s nutrition program goals, School principals are directed by the school board and superintendent to ensure that:

English Language Learner Annual Report for the 2014-15 School Year

he Oregon English Language Learner Report is an annual publication required by law (ORS 327.016), which reports on financial information for English language learner programs, the objectives and needs of students eligible for and enrolled in an English language learner program, as well as provides information on the demographics of students in English language learner programs in each school district.


In addition, this report provides a tool that makes data on English language learners accessible to researchers, media, students, and parents.
