November is Native American Heritage Month! This month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Native American Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.

The American Rescue Plan Act, 2021 (ARP Act or ARPA) provides an additional $122 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund III (ESSER III or ARP ESSER). $1.1 billion in funding will be awarded to Oregon. ESSER III Grants will be awarded to local education agencies in the proportion they received funds under Part A of Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) in fiscal year 2020. Reynolds School District ensures that all students from all populations in the District have access to the TAG assessment process and, if identified, receive TAG services. In February, all second-grade students will have an opportunity to take an assessment for potential TAG eligibility. Scores from these tests will be used to assist in determining eligibility for Talented and Gifted (TAG) services.
