​​Ground Rules:
  1. Be on time / start on time
  2. Be prepared
  3. Use respectful tone and be considerate of each person in the room
  4. Limit electronic communication
  5. Either party can call for a caucus at any time
  6. Open bargaining – Brian explained that that meant anyone can come and watch
  7. The bargaining process for this year will look as it has in the past
  8. Don’t reopen article until asked to
  9. TA = set aside
  10. No substitutions – keep teams intact if possible (retirements may affect this)
  11. March 5th tentatively set as date when no new article proposals would be proposed. Definitive date will be determined at the 2nd or 3rd session, due to legislative meeting
  12. Have place holders on insurance and salary – we won’t know what Reynolds budgeting process will be, SSA money and fallout.  School fund for this year-we know what insurance is for next year.
  13. Articles/revisions should be collated, stapled and hole punched
  14. Color of paper: REA will use blue, Reynolds will use green
  15. Listen with good intent –important that communication not only be respectful but also active listening to occur.
  16. Audio recordings of all sessions will be made and copies would be provided to all, via thumb drive or download.
Timeline:
Timeline when bargaining begins is 150 days.  Bargaining must occur for 150 days before either party take steps for mediation.  
 
Other business:
  • Locations for two of the day sessions at the Uniserv Offices will need to be changed—REA needs to look at another site/venue. Those dates of sessions to be mid-April and mid-May.  All other sessions will be at Woodland Elementary School Library.
  • Both parties will be ready for full proposals at the next session on February 20, 2020.
