Press Release from Reynolds School District (Read full press release)
September 6, 2017

Most students in Reynolds School District are returning on Wednesday to campuses that are newly improved since school ended last year. District Superintendent, Linda Florence, expressed that she was “so pleased to welcome students across the District back to safer and more secure schools thanks to funding from the bond measure.”

School improvements include:

  • Ten schools have new, more secure entryways, exterior locking doors, and cameras. Two other schools received similar security improvements over the summer of 2016.
  • Students at Fairview, Troutdale, Wilkes and RHS return to big changes, as new elementary schools are under construction and major renovations continue at the high school.
  • In addition to the bond-funded improvements, many schools received improvements such as seismic upgrades, new kitchen coolers, driveway and playground upgrades, paid for by annual District funding.

Innovative playgrounds at the three new elementary schools will teach kids about the local landscape and other educational topics. Among the network of slides, walkways, monkey bars and other interactive features, each playground will have eleven custom-designed educational panels focused on aspects of the students’ environment and community. The unique playground designs come from the imaginations of Portland-based father and son team, Wildwood Playgrounds.

Glenfair Elementary

Today we had a Lockout and a Lockdown Drill.  This can sometimes be a scary event for students but at Glenfair we prepare them for the drills in advance and work hard for it to be a learning experience for all our kids.  Attached to the bottom of this page is some information that we sent home with students this week about our drills and processes in case of an emergency.  We hope you can take some time at home to prepare for emergencies and talk about our drills today.  If you have any questions about our drills or emergency processes please contact the front office for an appointment with
