Senior Awards Night, held on June 7, 2017 showcased our seniors who have received institutional scholarships, outside scholarships, awards, and admission into a college or university.  Students had to show proof of acceptance into a postsecondary school and proof that they were a recipient of an award/scholarship prior to the event.  These exceptional students pulled in a grand total of $9,318,516 in scholarship dollars, one of the most impressive amounts ever at Reynolds High School.

Senior Signing Day is an event inspired from Michelle Obama's initiative, Reach Higher.  The day is all about recognizing our seniors who have made a decision to do something after high school.  Students had either declared that they are going into the military and/or that they will be going to a community college/trade school/technical school/college/university.  The National Decision Day to declare what you are doing after high school was May 1, 2017 and our Reynolds Senior Signing Day was just before, on April 25th, 2017.

Service project making mats from recycled bags for the homeless. The mat provides a waterproof barrier and some cushion to their sleeping bags on the cold, hard ground.  Nearly 1 in every 10 Reynolds students are identified as Homeless.  As autumn turns to winter, this will be a great volunteer service project help our Reynolds families.  Please feel free to share this e-mail with other groups, friends, etc.

Plans for one of the three new elementary schools in the Reynolds School District reflect an innovative design that will allow for more flexible instruction for students, and designs show the remodeled Reynolds High School will have a dramatic new entrance.

Plans are moving forward and designs are shaping up for the major remodel of Reynolds High School and the replacement of three district elementary schools, with construction scheduled to begin during the next school year.

Work has already started on the safety and security upgrades at Salish Ponds Elementary School and Reynolds Middle School and will begin soon at Sweetbriar Elementary School. Read the full article at The Gresham Outlook's website.
