September 2017 Athlete of the Month

Brianna Riordan (12), Soccer

Bri has played soccer all four years on the varsity team. She has held the position of captain all four years and is a true inspiration to everyone around her. Bri is the anchor on defense and is the only defensive player this year and over the past 2 years that has scored a goal. She is currently filling in at midfield and has played amazing all season even though she is nursing an injury. She has prevented numerous goals and as a captain has inspired the team to achieve greatness. She currently holds a 3.6 GPA and is on the RHS leadership team. She works as an assistant manager at Jamba Juice and had over 15 hours of community service this month. She is the epitome of what an athlete of the month should be and she truly deserves this honor.

Kiandre Hewett (12), Football

Kiandre exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete at Reynolds High School. He is accountable in the classroom, in the community and on the field. He is able to prioritize his time and hold his studies above athletics, while demonstrating the appropriate skills necessary for success on the field. He is not only a leader in the classroom, but serves our football program as a captain and an ambassador for all that is true about high school athletics. Kiandre demonstrates and promotes characteristics that are fundamental to success, that are well beyond his years. He serves his school as the ASB president, devoting a great deal of time for the betterment of the school he loves. He has found time in his busy schedule to maintain a 3.90 GPA, and has ambitions to attend Stanford or Harvard in the fall. If you need an example of what a student-athlete looks like, you need to look no further Kiandre. His attitude and effort this season has allowed us to overcome many trying times. There are many student-athletes in our school, few embody the morals and values that Kiandre possess.
