Martin's Big Words

At a recent parent meeting we gave a copy of Martin's Big Words to every student in attendance.  Below are some questions you could use to read the book as a family and help your students work on their reading comprehension.  The questions are examples of a good way to start family reading and guide you to some questions that can be asked about any book your child is going to read.  We hope you enjoy the book and that the questions can bring your family together to discuss important topics and share in a wonderful story.

Glenfair Picture Retakes

Picture retakes are this Friday October 25th.  If you missed pictures the first time around or want to have your photos retaken come with your best smile.  New or absent students will all have their photos taken.  If you are looking for retakes please remember to bring your first packet back.  Extra photo packets for new orders are available in the main office or you can pay online at mylifetouch.com using the picture day ID FO749100Q1. Smile Griz!

POWER Expectations

POWER is a set of schoolwide academic expectations designed to support every student at Reynolds throughout all four years of high school.

Spanish Heritage Month

On Friday, October 2nd 2015, Ms Forestell’s and Ms Hamilton’s ELD classes celebrated Spanish Heritage Month by inviting guests to their classroom. Erika Pinzon, Reynolds ELD Parent & Community Liaison (Spanish) brought two parents, Graciela Hernandez and Gloria Pacheaco , to honor and celebrate our Spanish speaking community. We learned how to make tortillas from corn flour (maize) and an authentic, and spicy, salsa using a stone mortar and pestle. The afternoon included playing a family game from Mexico called “La Loteria” and, of course, a game of soccer, or fotbol.
