OSEA Bargaining Session Update: June 14, 2017

The fourth bargaining session between Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA) and Reynolds School District (RSD) was held on June 14, 2017 at the Reynolds Professional Development Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Proposals were exchanged as follows:

 

OSEA presented counter proposals for the following two articles:

  • Article 7 – Emergency Closure

The District presented an updated Memorandum of Agreement:

  • Article 4 – Fringe Benefits
  • MOU – Furlough Days for 2017/2018

There was continued discussion about the proposed MOU for cutting 10 days from the 2017-2018 work calendar due to the significant budget shortfall the district is facing for the 2017-2019 biennium.

Tentative Agreement was reached on:

  • Article 23 – Workshops/Courses
  • Memorandum of Understanding – No Contracting Out
  • Memorandum of Understanding – Educational Assistant Subcommittee

Next Session:

The next scheduled bargaining session will be held on June 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Woodland Elementary School Library.  The agenda will include:

     District will bring counter proposals for:

  • Article 5 – Paid Leaves of Absence
  • Article 7 – Emergency Closure
  • Article 8 – Salary
  • Article 9 – Holidays

     OSEA will bring a counter proposal for: 

  • Article 4 – Fringe Benefits
