ELPA Screener Response Form

The English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) measures students' English language proficiency, both knowledge and skills, in reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Results from this test determine which students are eligible to continue receiving ELD services and those that are ready to exit the ELD program.

This year, families will make the final decision to accept or decline ELPA Screening opportunities this fall. Please let us know if you accept or decline the opportunity for your student to test this school year.

If you accept, we will work with you to schedule a testing appointment. If you decline, we will not schedule a testing appointment. (If you change your mind later about accepting or declining a testing opportunity, please contact us as soon as you can.)

Students who do not participate in ELPA Screening will continue in our English Language Development program until they can successfully test out. Because we want to be sure that every student has a chance to show what they know and can do, these students will get another opportunity to demonstrate their English language proficiency later in the Spring.
