Reynolds High School Athletic Field
Athletic Field Discussion Group,
Bullet points from October 19 meeting:
- Last school in Oregon built in 1972 to not have an athletic field
- ESSER money that needs to be spent by end of August, billing finalized by end of September
-
Cooperative procurement agreement being used, meaning we won’t be going out for bids, we will be using specified provider (AKS)
- AKS just finished athletic field with Canby SD
- Lighting system being put in these days have tight cutoffs. Note: There is a high possibility that neighbors may complain - but there is a standard on light pollution and AKS follows this with the lighting system they use
- City may bring up notice of needing offsite improvements due to increase in field use (more sports, more time folks using field, meaning more traffic)
- Possibility of being able to do a couple of the needed projects separately (i.e. lights)
- Pre-Op Meeting with the city
- Tracks, football, soccer, rubbered zones
- 30’ property buffer
- 4 stadium lights
- Won’t include additional field events items as shown in current field
- Recommendation to phase in field events (i.e. high jump box, sand pits, etc.) in the D zone of the athletic field to limit how far athletes have to travel to participate in events
- Looking into potentially fencing off the field to protect it
- Will need to look into access for both maintenance and emergencies
- Will need to look into concourse from main parking lot to field
- Storage? Will need to determine with the group feedback if we will include storage sheds as that will need to be added to the land use application
- Possibly having storage be placed under grandstand in the future
