Hartley is asking all students to check-in (return) their devices and chargers to their classroom teacher the week of May 31st-June 3rd. Teachers will be checking devices to make sure they are in good working order (screen not damaged; all keys working and intact; headphone port clear; charger in working condition) before they are checked out to the to K-4th grade students for the summer. We are also asking families to sign the Student Summer Device Pledge for 2022. The device pledge will also be available at the Hartley picnic for families to sign.

All school library books are due by Friday, June 3, 2022. While our school library takes a rest during the summer, the Rockwood Library (181^st & Stark) and all the other public libraries are gearing up for a terrific summer of reading and free programs! More information will go home soon, or you can stop by your closest library for more information anytime

The board, as a part of the district’s on-going program to maintain student discipline and ensure the health, welfare and safety of all students and personnel, and in the interest of protecting district property and equipment, authorizes the utilization of video equipment in the following ways:

In case of hazardous or emergency conditions, the superintendent may alter district and transportation schedules as are appropriate to the particular condition. Such alterations include closure^[1] of all schools, closure of selected schools or grade levels, delayed openings of schools and early dismissal of students.

For the safety of staff and students in the school environment and to reduce the possibilities of theft, vandalism and loss of district property, all district employees shall be issued and wear identification badges. The supervisors are responsible to see that this requirement is met.

Each administrator will conduct emergency drills in accordance with the provisions of Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS).

The superintendent will develop and maintain a plan specifying procedures to be used in such emergencies as disorderly conduct, unlawful assembly, disturbances at school activities, natural disasters, fire, illness or injury of a student or staff member, and use of force on school property. The superintendent will consult with community and county agencies while developing this plan.

The district’s Emergency Procedures Plan will meet the standards of the State Board of Education.
