OSEA Bargaining Session Update: May 25, 2017
The third bargaining session between Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA) and Reynolds School District (RSD) was held on May 25, 2017 at the Woodland Elementary School Library from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Proposals were exchanged as follows:
OSEA presented counter proposals for the following two articles:
- Article 4 – Fringe Benefits
- Article 5 – Paid Leaves of Absence
The District presented an updated Memorandum of Agreement:
- MOU – Furlough Days for 2017/2018
There was continued discussion about the proposed MOU for cutting 10 days from the 2017-2018 work calendar due to the significant budget shortfall the district is facing for the 2017-2019 biennium.
Tentative Agreement was reached on:
- Article 23 – Workshops/Courses
Next Session:
The next scheduled bargaining session will be held on June 14, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Professional Development Center (PDC). The agenda will include:
- Discussion – Article 7 – Emergency Closure
- Discussion – Article 8 – Salary
- Discussion – Article 9 – Holidays
OSEA will bring counter proposal for the No Contracting Out MOU and Educational Assistant MOU
