Cast Your Vote - 2019-20 School Calendars

Reynolds School District would like your feedback regarding the 2019-2020 school calendar!

Each year the school board votes to approve the academic calendar for the next school year in the spring. This year, the proposed 2019-2020 academic calendars for all grade levels will be presented to the school board to vote in April 2019.

In an effort to decrease summer learning loss (the loss of academic achievement created by the long summer break), Reynolds School District is proposing a modified school calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. We would like your input to determine if you would prefer a more traditional calendar similar to the current year (DRAFT A) or a modified version that extends the school year as outlined below (DRAFT B).

2019-2020 DRAFT A Calendar compared to 2019-2020 DRAFT B Calendar NOTES: The same number of instructional days are in both calendars. Both DRAFT A and DRAFT B Calendars begin on September 3, 2019 (September 3-4, 2019 for middle and high schools) DRAFT B Calendar ends 9 days later in the school year. DRAFT A Calendar ends June 10, 2020 DRAFT B Calendar ends June 19, 2020 DRAFT B includes a greater number of short breaks throughout the year (i.e. longer weekends) and slightly longer winter and spring breaks. 2019-2020 DRAFT A Calendars
