February Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to Maria Velador and Bahr Trayhorn, our February Jeff Weins Athletes of the Month!

Maria Velador (11), Girls Basektball - Maria is a hard worker on and off the court, a good teammate and leader. She is someone we can rely on whether it's to get the ball up the floor or maintain good grades. She is unselfish and puts the teams needs before her own. She does whatever it takes to help our team be successful even if that means her stats aren't as good as they could be. Maria is the teammate everyone wants to be around she makes everyone feel important and part of the team.

Bahr Trayhorn (12), Wrestling - Bahr had 27 wins and 9 losses on the year; 4 wins and 1 loss in league. He placed 3rd at the Mt. Hood Conference wrestling tournament.  Bahr won two matches at the state meet. Both wrestlers who defeated him placed in the top six at that weight class. In tournaments this season he won 1st place at the Kirk Morey (4 man bracket), North Salem (16 man), and Forest Grove (16-man). He took 2nd place at the Glencoe Tournament (8-man) and 3rd at the Hood River Invite and Clackamas Tournament (both 32-man). Bahr has been an OUTSTANDING leader in our program both as a mentor and role model for the past four years. He is a good, solid, well-rounded young man!
