March Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to Jeremy Hodges and Jayden Blaylock.  They are the Wiens Athletes of the Month for March 2014!  This award is named in honor of Jeff Wiens, Reynolds Athletic director from 1979-2004.

Jeremy is a senior member of the Reynolds Track & Field team. Coming off of an incredible Cross County season, Jeremy decided to train his tail off of all winter—he ran over 400 miles!!!  (This is not a typical number in terms of winter mileage)  He also came to every winter track practice.  As a result of his hard work, he came out and won the Varsity 800M with a 2 second P.R.—this is pretty sweet performance given the early March date, the cold weather and nobody pushing him.  He is also the nicest kid presently walking the halls of RHS!  

Jayden Blaylock is a senior member of the Reynolds Softball team. Jayden is a leader on and off the field. She has been such a big part of our success because of her effort, focus, commitment and leadership. When it comes to her commitment, she always wants extra hitting.  So far this year she is leading our team in hits, runs, homeruns, triples, and RBI's.  She has sacrificed her normal position of first base to play catcher where we needed someone to fill a hole because of graduation.  She volunteered to do it without any reservations.  Jayden has become a true leader this year vocally, and by example.  Jayden has accepted a Scholarship to play softball at Treasure Valley Community College next fall.
