Scholarship Opportunities open to Reynolds seniors only

 

 

 

EMAR Foundation Scholarship - DUE by 4 PM on Wednesday, April 10th (paper application)

Every two years, East Metro Association of Realtors (EMAR) offers scholarships to TWO (2) RHS seniors ($2,000 & $1,500), so this is your year, RHS Class of 2024! Applications are available to print (under "Supporting Documents" at the bottom of this page), or you can pick up a paper application from the College & Career Center. Turn your completed application packets in at the College & Career Center by the deadline.

Four finalists will be selected and scheduled for personal interviews with the EMAR Foundation interview committee on Monday, April 22nd at RHS. 

Criteria for selection:

  • 3.25+ cumulative GPA (unweighted)
  • Documented school achievements, awards &/or organizational involvement
  • Documented employment history (paid/unpaid)
  • Documented community, civic or church activities & hobbies
  • Essay (one page, typed & double-spaced) on personal or professional goals and intended use of the scholarship
  • Personal interviews (four finalists will be invited to interview with the EMAR Foundation Committee at RHS on Monday, April 22nd)

Scholarship awards are paid directly to the college of the student's choice, and must be used within four years. If not used, the funds will be returned to the EMAR Foundation General Fund.

Reynolds Education Association (REA) Kathy Schuman Memorial Scholarship - DUE by 4 PM on April 24th, 2024 

 

This is a PAPER application; pick one up from the College & Career Center.

REA, representing Reynolds certified teachers, counselors and specialists, provides an annual scholarship to TWO (2) graduating RHS seniors or recent RHS graduates who intend to pursue a career in education at any level. 

$500/yr (renewable upon request for up to four years)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a graduating senior from Reynolds School District (RSD#7), or have graduated from RSD #7 within the past two years.
  • 2.5+ cumulative GPA (unweighted)
  • Intend to pursue a career in education at any level (teacher, counselor, education assistant, speech pathologist, translator, etc.)
  • Enroll in a 2-yr or 4-yr program at an accredited post-secondary institution (community college or university)
  • Attend college at least 1/2 time (6+ credits/term)

To apply: 

  1. Fill out the paper application
  2. Provide your HS transcript (must include 1st semester grades from senior year); recent graduates currently attending college must provide a college transcript in addition to a final HS transcript that shows your graduation date). 
  3. Write a one-page essay describing the reasons you want to pursue a career in education. 
  4. Resume that includes work experience, extra-curricular activities, awards, leadership and community service.
  5. Submit TWO (2) letters of recommendation

Return completed scholarship applications and required documents to the RHS College & Career Center or your counselor at RHS or RLA.

Mark Sweeting Memorial Scholarship - DUE by 3:00 PM on Friday, May 3rd 

This is a PAPER application; pick one up from the College & Career Center. 

Mr. Sweeting was a beloved teacher in the Social Studies department at Reynolds HS until his passing a few years ago. The Mark Sweeting Memorial Scholarship was established to honor his commitment to supporting the career and educational goals of first-generation college students from RHS' graduating senior class.

One-time award ($500) to help with educational expenses (tuition, fees, books, or materials).

The award helps cover educational costs at trade school, community college, or 4-yr university. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduate from Reynolds HS in June 2024
  • Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor's degree or higher)
  • 2.5+ GPA (unweighted)
  • Plan to enroll in an accredited trade school, community college or university in fall 2024. 

 To apply

  1. Complete paper application
  2. Submit proof of acceptance to an accredited trade school, community college or 4-yr university 
  3. Submit a current Reynolds HS transcript (must include  1st semester grades from senior year)
  4. Compose & submit a 500-word essay
    • ESSAY PROMPT: Write about a topic taught or discussed in one or more of your social studies courses that shaped your thinking or had a particular impact on you. These could be lessons/topics you learned about in Modern World History, US History, Government/Economics, Anthropology or Psychology.

Completed applications and required materials must be turned in to Lisa Madzelan (RM #A-12) or Courtney Peterson (Library) by 3:00 PM on Friday, May 3rd.

Individual Scholarship Opportunities 

 

 Eastwind Running & Endurance High School Scholarship - DUE Monday, April 15th, 2024 

This is a PAPER application! The application is located under "Supporting Documents" at the bottom of this page, or you can pick one up from the College & Career Center.

Mail completed application packet & required materials to address on the application below; your application materials must be postmarked by the deadline.

Eastwind Running & Endurance is awarding TWO scholarships ($2,500 & $2,000) for graduating seniors enrolling in a college, university, or vocational school in Fall 2024. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Graduate in 2024
  • Enroll in selected college, university, vocational/trade school in Fall 2024
  • Answer TWO questions about the role fitness has played in your life.
    1. How has physical fitness helped you to achieve your education &/or life goals? 
    2. How do you plan to continue your fitness journey as you go to college/tech school and beyond? 

The questions can be answered in the form of two typed essays (500-word count each), pieces of artwork with written explanations, or a 2-minute video. Essays, artwork, and/or videos must be emailed or mailed to the addresses listed below by the deadline. 

IMPORTANT: When submitting your application, title the file: first name.last name (EXP: sam.smith.pdf)
