Club Paesano Italian American Scholarship - DUE Wednesday, April 30th, 2025

 

Club Paesano Italian American Scholarship - Club Paesano is proud to offer its first Italian American Scholarship Program.  The Club Paesano Italian American Scholarship was established to award high school students who demonstrate a desire to learn, and to emulate Italian American attributes such as diligence and determination.

Scholarships are one-time awards of $1,000. The number of scholarships awarded may vary from year to year, based on the number of applicants and available funding. 

You must DOWNLOAD the APPLICATION PACKET (PDF) from Club Paesano's website. Complete applications with all required documents must be submitted by email to Rick Cervi by Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Incoming college freshmen living in the Greater Portland Metro area or SW WA.
  • Be accepted to an accredited post-high institution (universities, colleges, community colleges, and trade schools are included)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+
  • Be of Italian American descent with at least one ancestor that can be certified to have emigrated from Italy. 

 

To APPLY, you must:

  • Submit a completed & signed application packet (download the PDF application packet from Club Paesano's website) & all required docs by the deadline
  • Submit TWO (2) letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, professors, employers, or service coordinators
  • Submit a RESUME that outlines extracurricular activities, work experience, and volunteer services. 
  • Submit an ESSAY (750 word max)
  • Provide OFFICIAL transcripts that include 7 semesters of grades (must include grades from 1st semester of senior year)

ESSAY PROMPT...do not exceed 750 words!

The generations that came before possessed an incredible work ethic and a desire to positively contribute to their communities. The Italian immigrant dreamed that generations to come would remain committed to the values of strong families and good citizenship while being able to achieve a better education."

Write about how you embody the values of hard work, diligence, determination and how you plan to use your education to a make a positive impact.

East County Math Scholarship (for RHS graduating seniors only) - DUE May 1st, 2025

 

East County Math Scholarship 

DUE Thursday, May 1st, 2025 / Winners announced Monday, June 2nd ($500) for RHS seniors only!

Education gives people of all ages the opportunity to expand their horizons, discover new fields of passion, connect with others, and build skills such as time management, focus, and work ethic. Unfortunately, these many benefits and opportunities are stuck behind a paywall, leaving many without access to the education they seek.

This scholarship seeks to support students who are preparing to finish high school and begin college so they can overcome any financial obstacles they may face.

Eligibility Requirements: Reynolds High school graduating seniors intending to enroll in a 2-or-4-year program at a community college, college, or university are eligible to apply.

    • What's your most memorable math class moment?

Erich Schneider Legacy Scholarship (CTE/Trades) - DUE by 11:59 PM on May 9th, 2025

 

Calling all dedicated CTE students...does your post-high path include a career in the trades? APPLY for the Erich Schneider Legacy Scholarship! Up to TWO (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to RHS seniors this year. 

The Erich Schneider Legacy Scholarship is designed to support students who are passionate about pursuing a career in the trades or vocational/technical education (CTE) after graduating from high school. The scholarship award money can be used to purchase tools and other gear you might need to jump-start your post-high journey into the trades. This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Mr. Erich Schneider, a master teacher and 25-year veteran of Reynolds School District.

Erich was a patient mentor, trusted advisor, and inspirational motivator to thousands of students who came through the RHS Wood Shop over the past several years. Erich believed strongly in helping every student plan for life after high school and beyond, and this scholarship continues that mission. 

Graduating seniors in CTE at Reynolds HS are eligible to apply*. 

*Applicants must have successfully completed 2.5 credits of Career and Technical Ed (CTE) in a single program of study (Woods/Construction, Metals, or Automotive). 

Additional requirements are outlined in the online application. 

To apply for the Erich Schneider Legacy Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Complete the online scholarship application 
  • Provide current HS transcript (must include seven semesters-grades through first semester of senior year)
  • Submit a Statement of Goals essay: Why do you want to continue your education beyond high school? What are your tentative careers goals? How will this scholarship help you continue your advancement into the trades? 
  • Write a Personal Statement-List your accomplishments and hardships in high school (including, but not limited to achievements in the Reynolds HS CTE program, community service, extra curricular activities, work/employment, personal stories, etc.) 
  • Include TWO letters of reference from RHS teachers, counselors &/or administrative staff
  • Upload a personal portfolio of projects or successes within your CTE classes at Reynolds HS. 
  • Have successfully completed 2.5 credits of Career and Technical Ed (CTE) in a single program of study (Woods/Construction, Metals, or Automotive). 

The online application and all required materials are DUE by 11:59 PM on Friday, May 9th, 2025. 

City of Wood Village-Opportunity Scholarship OPENS May 1st, 2025; DEADLINE: May 31st by 11:59 PM

 

  Are you graduating from Reynolds HS in June 2025? Do you live in Wood Village? Do your post-high plans include going to college, university, or trade school in Fall 2025? Then you should APPLY for City of Wood Village's Opportunity Scholarship

The City of Wood Village Opportunity Scholarship was created to help graduating seniors who live in Wood Village with financial support to continue their educations beyond high school at a college, university, or trade school. The scholarship amount is a minimum of $1,250, plus a stipend to help cover required materials or supplies. The amounts depend on the number of applicants and funds available.

Eligibility requirements: 

Students must:

  • Live in Wood Village
  • Complete high school diploma or GED in June 2025
  • Start college, university, or trade school in Fall 2025
  • Have a 2.0+ minimum GPA
  • Submit a completed application & all required materials by the deadline
  • Commit to an in-person meeting/interview if selected as a finalist. 

 

 The online application OPENS on May 1st, 2025. A paper application will be available on the City's website on May 1st.

Angel Wings Thai Scholarship Initiative 2025 / Angel Wings International Foundation - DUE June 13th, 2025

 

The Angels Wings Foundation is offering scholarships for rising college students of Thai ancestry residing in the United States. The initiative behind the Angels Wings Thai Scholarship is to recognize & honor Thai American students who have demonstrated academic excellence, concern for their Thai community, heritage connection, and desire to continue their education beyond high school. 

Applicants for the Angel Wings Thai Scholarship must: 

  • Reside in the U.S.
  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Enter an accredited college, university, or trade school in Fall 2025
  • Have an unweighted, cumulative GPA of 3.0+. 
  • Demonstrate your aspiration through a 500-1,000 word essay that answers the following questions: 
    • How has your Thai heritage influenced your educational aspirations and career goals? 
    • Can you share a story about a non-family member from your Thai community who influenced your approach to your studies? What specific qualities or actions inspired you, and how have they helped shape your academic journey? 
    • What movie has deeply inspired you or taught you valuable life lessons? Describe how it has infludenced your personal growth.

Ham & Sam Foundation-Malcolm Fylan Memorial Scholarship DUE June 30th, 2025

 

The Richard Ham & Sam Wolsborn Foundation is offering up to EIGHT (8) $3,000 scholarships for students attending college or trade school in Fall 2025. Students interested in applying for scholarships must submit a ONE-PAGE LETTER (typed or handwritten) in PDF form only. Letters are DUE by June 30th, 2025. Letters will be reviewed and finalists will be selected for personal interviews with the selection committee on Monday, July 21st between 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at Gresham Golf Course. Final selections will be made before the end of July. 

Your letter must be in PDF format, and should include:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Previous educational experience,
  • Proposed course of study
  • Name of the college or accredited post-high institution 
  • Reasons why the Ham & Sam Foundation should award you a scholarship
