2019 Inductees

Jim Kitchen (Reynolds HS, 1959 – 1963)

Jim was a three-sport athlete for the Lancers, earning seven varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball.  As a freshman, he was a member of the first-ever freshman football team and freshman basketball team at Reynolds.  In baseball, he earned All-League honors and was part of three straight Wilco League championships.  As a senior, Jim was a member of the 7-1-1 Lancer football team and served as the co-caption of the basketball team.  After graduating from Reynolds, Jim went on to Lewis & Clark College, where he lettered in three sports.  As a senior on the Pioneer basketball team, Jim earned 2nd Team All-Northwest Conference honors.  Jim went on to have a very successful career as an educator where he coached football, basketball, baseball and golf, including 21 years as a varsity basketball coach.  Jim also served as the athletic director at David Douglas High School for thirteen years.  In 2006, Jim received the Meritorious Service Award from the Lewis & Clark Athletic Hall of Fame.

Todd Rispler (Reynolds HS, 1978 – 1982)

Todd has been a staple in the Reynolds community for over fifty years, starting as a student at Glenfair Elementary, then onto his days as a Lancer and now his decades of teaching and coaching as a Raider.  As a Lancer, Todd was a true all-around athlete, playing football, basketball, track and field, and cross country.  He earned nine varsity letters that included All-State honors in football and All-Wilco League honors in basketball.  In track and field, Todd made multiple appearances at the state track meet, which included a 3rd-place finish with the 4x400m relay team.  Unfortunately, during his junior-year football campaign Todd suffered a broken neck, ending his football career.  While he was able to make a full recovery and went on to have great success for the Lancers, he would have undoubtedly earned numerous more All-League and All-State awards had the injury not occurred.  After graduating from Reynolds, Todd went on to jump for the Mt. Hood Community College track and field team for two years.  In 1988, Todd’s coaching career began at HB Lee Middle School.  He was later hired as a physical education teacher at Reynolds High School in 1991, where he also coached numerous different sports at all levels over the years, including girls basketball, boys basketball, football and track and field.  Todd was the head coach for the Raider track and field program for 18 years.  He was named the Mt. Hood Conference boys coach of the year five times and girls coach of the year one time.  In 1998, Todd led the boys team to a school best second-place finish at the state meet and he was named the Oregon Coach of the Year.  In 2001, Todd led the girls team to their only league title in school history.  To this day, Todd is still teaching and helping coach at RHS, and still serving as a true ambassador to the Reynolds community.

Lisa Workman (Reynolds HS, 1986 – 1990)

Lisa earned eight varsity letters for the Lancers and then Raiders in soccer, volleyball, basketball and softball.  In volleyball, she was an Honorable Mention All-Mt. Hood Conference selection as a senior.  In softball she twice earned Honorable Mention Honors and helped the Lancers win two MHC championships.  In basketball, Lisa excelled on the court, earning All-MHC Honors three times.  As a senior for the Raiders, she was the leading scorer in the MHC, led the team to a runner-up conference finish, and earned 1st Team All-MHC and 2nd Team All-State honors.  Lisa was also the recipient of numerous senior awards, including the Morey Athlete of the Year Award, the Carpenter Award and the Ross Memorial Award.  After Reynolds, Lisa accepted a full basketball scholarship to Boise State University, where she was a four-time letter earner and three-time Academic All-Conference Award winner.  Lisa helped the Broncos win two Big Sky Conference championships that included an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 1994.

1998 Reynolds Boys Track & Field Team

The Raider boys track and field team in the spring of 1998 was undoubtedly the best all-around track and field team the Reynolds School District has produced.  Led by Coach Todd Rispler, the Raider boys dominated the Mt. Hood Conference, capped off with the district meet championship.  They went on to the state meet where they placed in seven different events, which included Dave Nuffer’s state championship in the 110m hurdles and the state championship in the 1600m relay with Andric Brown, Matt Williams, Fernando Fantroy and Jason Ostrowski.  At the meet’s end, the Raider boys had pulled off and improbable second-place finish in the state, which to this day is still a school record.  Team Members: Kaaumouana Ahina, Chris Aldridge, Andric Brown, Daniel Buck, Andy Cerotsky, James Darling, Tim Doolan, Brandon Edwards, Fernando Fantroy, John Fantroy, Ben Heemeyer, Matt Holland, Ryan Kennedy, Corey Loebl, Kevin Layton, Dave McCoy, Dave Nuffer, Andrew Miller, Jason Ostrowski, Phaysane Oudom, Doug Pruitt, Curtis Reese, Jon Rowe, Nigel Schnakenberg, Aaron Springer, Ban Tat, Ricky Vahl and Matt Williams.
