REA Negotiations Update: April 19, 2012

In response to the Reynolds Education Association calling impasse on April 12, 2012, the Reynolds School District (District) is required to provide the “final offer” with our cost summary to the mediator from the Oregon Employee Relations Board by Thursday, April 19, 2012. The published material represents a summary of the District's last proposals at the bargaining table.

The Reynolds School Board was advised that any changes in position must be done at the bargaining table. The District team is prepared to continue to exchange proposals at the fourth mediation session on Friday, April 27, 2012.

On April 12, 2012, when the District received the impasse letter from REA, the District had several proposals on the table and was awaiting response from REA. The fourth mediation session was already scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2012. The District had expected to continue good faith bargaining when the notice of impasse was received.

The District is fully committed to good faith bargaining efforts to resolve any differences within the 30-day cooling off period. The District Bargaining Team will make themselves available to bargain frequently, even if the mediator is not available, in the next 30-days as a of the district’s interest in and commitment to good faith bargaining with our licensed REA staff members.
