    What Happened:

    • REA shared counters on: Article 10 | Article 26 and accepted Article 13
    • Caucus
    • RSD accepted Article 10 and Article 26d
    • REA proposed pausing the bargaining clock and restarting in the fall, with a “meet and greet” in September
    • RSD was open to an informal session but did not agree to pausing the clock
    • Caucus
    • REA proposed September 1 and 8 as future meeting dates

    • REA shared information on their survey regarding a one-year agreement

    What Happened:

    • RSD provided this sheet with the costs: adding back 6 days to restore a full school year, step/longevity, and various percentages of COLAS. 
    • REA presented a one-year proposal which included changes to: Article 7 | Article 14 | Article 19 | Article 22 | Article 23 | Article 27
    • Caucus

    • RSD accepted the proposals for Article 7 and Article 27, and presented counters on Article 14 | Article 22 | Article 23
    • Caucus

    • In the sidebar, the RSD team provided a verbal “supposal” of a package that added back step/longevity, included 4% increase in health insurance, and a $350K insurance pool contribution. This offer is in line with our current proposed budget and would require no additional staffing reductions (barring an unforeseen change in state school fund). The REA team chose not to consider the supposal that evening and ended the bargaining session.
    • RSD followed-up with a written copy of the supposal this morning, requesting an additional bargaining session in the next two weeks

    • REA will share a list of questions from members with RSD to discuss in a sidebar before the next meeting.
    • REA will bring a draft one-year proposal to the next session.

    What Happened:

    • REA presented a counter proposal on Article 5 restoring proposed language on reimbursement for personal property and accepting language on 20 school days of notice before discontinuation of software packages.
    • RSD provided a financial presentation.
    • REA asked clarifying questions.
    • Caucus.
    • A tentative agreement was reached on Article 22: Reductions in Force.
    • Discussion of information requests. 
    • Caucus.
    • Discussion of next session’s articles to be presented. 
    • REA will present Articles 10, 13, 26, 4.
    • RSD will bring counterproposals for Article 5 and Article 9.

    What Happened: 

    • REA presented a counter proposal on Article 5 restoring all proposed language, but changed the number of days notice of an elimination of a software package or tool that must be provided to staff to 20 school days.
    • REA presented a new revised proposal on Article 25. Proposed language exempts the REA President and Vice President from RIF for the life of the contract, as well as REA bargaining team members while bargaining is in process.
    • RSD provided requested information on Plans of Awareness, PD feedback, ECRI, and insurance coverage for loss of personal property.
    • RSD presented its proposal on Article 9 Teaching Hours.

    • RSD presented a counter proposal on Article 5, accepting the 20 school days notice on discontinuation of a software tool. 
    • RSD presented a counter proposal on Article 25 accepting the proposal to exempt the REA President and Vice President from RIF for the life of the contract, as well as REA bargaining team members while bargaining is in process.
