Reynolds Education Association Bargaining Session Update: April 23, 2014

REA Negotiations Update for April 23, 2014

The meeting was held in the Woodland Elementary Library from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Rachel Hopper made a financial presentation that covered the attached handout:

· March 2014 Board Financial Report

· General Fund Monthly Projections for April through June, 2014

· 2015 – 2015 Board Budget Goals

REA presented counter proposals for Article 10 – Employee Assignment and Article 11 - Promotions, Vacancies, and Transfers and for Article 21 – Dues and Payroll Deductions.

There was also continued discussion on the current proposals for the following articles but no counter proposals were exchanged:

Article 14 – Paid Leaves of Absence (primarily the Sick Leave Bank and personal leave)

The session ended at 6:30 and the agenda was set for the next session:

REA agreed to bring revised language on the Sick Leave Bank and counter proposals for Articles 7 and 9

The District agreed to bring counter proposals for Articles 10 & 11 and a minor counter proposal for Article 21. Rachel will also return for a discussion on the 2014/2015 budget. We’ll also begin discussions on Articles 22 – Employee Compensation and 23 – Fringe Benefits and 26 – Special Education.
