Reynolds Education Association Bargaining Session Update: April 16, 2014

REA Negotiations Update for April 16, 2014

The meeting was held at the OEA office from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The District presented the attached counter proposal for Article 9 – Teaching Hours which was followed by additional discussion

There was also discussion on the current proposals for the following articles but no counter proposals were exchanged:

· Article 21 – Dues and Payroll Deductions

· Article 14 – Paid Leaves of Absence

· Article 10 – Employee Assignment and Article 11 - Promotions, Vacancies, and Transfers which the District is proposing be combined into one article.

The session ended at 1:30 and the agenda was set for the next session:

REA agreed to bring counter proposals for Articles 10 & 11 and a minor counter proposal for Article 21. The District agreed to bring some thoughts on Article 14. It was mutually agreed that discussions would begin on Articles 22 – Employee Compensation and 23 – Fringe Benefits and that we would table the discussion on Article 27 – Class Load for now.
