REA Bargaining Update from February 13, 2012
Reynolds School District and the Reynolds Education Association met with the mediator for the second time on February 13, 2012 for a 10-hour session.
The district made one proposal on Articles 4 - Association Rights and Privileges, 5 - Employee Rights, 8 - Emergency Closure, 9 - Teaching Hours, 14 - Paid Leaves of Absence, 23 - Fringe Benefits and 27 - Class Load. The district is offering a memorandum of understanding to address the secondary preparation time concerns. REA responded to the district proposal on Articles 4 - Association Rights and Privileges , 8 - Emergency Closure, 25 - Reduction in Force and 27 - Class Road. The district made second and thirds proposal on Articles 7 - Employee Work Year, 19 - Tuition, Project and/or Workshop Reimbursement, 22 - Employee Compensation and 24 - Funding and Articles 4 - Association Rights and Privileges, 8 - Emergency Closure and 27 - Class Load, respectively. REA made a counterproposal on Articles 1 - Recognition, 4 - Association Rights and Privileges, 8 - Emergency Closure, and 19 - Tuition, Project and/or Workshop Reimbursement. No tentative agreements were reached.
A third mediation session has been scheduled for Thursday, March 15 at 9am at the Professional Development Center.
