Prudential Spirit of Community Awards (Students in Grades 5-12)

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program, in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals
Application deadline: November 5, 2013.

Students in grades 5-12 have the chance to be honored for their outstanding community service.

Who can apply?
Any young person in grades 5-12 who is a legal resident of any U.S. state or the District of Columbia and who has conducted a volunteer service activity within the 12 months prior to the date of the application. Completed applications need to be submitted to a school principal or the head of an officially designated local organization by the last weekday in October.

These organizations are:
* Girl Scout councils
* County 4-H organizations
* American Red Cross chapters
* YMCAs
* Affiliates of HandsOn Network


(Employees of Prudential, NASSP, or any of its affiliates, and any firm involved in the program, their children, and previous National Honorees are NOT eligible. Previous state honorees are eligible only if their submitted activities are significantly different from previously honored activities.)

How do I Apply for The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards?
If you are a student in grades 5-12 who has made a difference through volunteering over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C., next May by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community Award! Even more importantly, you could win recognition that might inspire other young people to follow your example. These prestigious awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial and NASSP, have honored more than 100,000 middle and high school students at the local, state, and national level over the past 17 years solely for their volunteer work.
