Oregon School Employees Association Bargaining Session Update: May 29, 2014
May 29th OSEA Negotiations Update:
The meeting was held at Reynolds Middle School from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 Noon.
The District presented its opening proposal. The District opened 10 Articles as follows:
Article 4 – Fringe Benefits
Article 5 – Leaves of Absence
Article 6 – Unpaid Leaves of Absence
Article 8 – Salary
Article 11 – Work Time
Article 12 – Association Rights
Article 19 – Discipline
Article 20 – Grievance Procedure/Contract Maintenance
Article 21 – Transportation
Article 24 – Job Openings
OSEA presented proposals for only two of the ten Articles they plan to open, Article 8 – Salary and Article 26 – Early Retirement. A full proposal will come In addition, they provided a list of the remaining Articles they intend to open:
Article 2 – District Rights
Article 4 – Fringe Benefits
Article 5 – Leaves of Absence
Article 7 – Emergency Closure
Article 11 – Work Time
Article 16 – Strike and Work Stoppages
Article 25 – Discrimination
Article 27 – Administrative Accountability (New)
The next negotiations session that was originally scheduled for June 17th has been postponed to Thursday, June 26th due to scheduling conflicts with a conference being attended by members of both bargaining teams. The June 26th meeting will be held at Reynolds Middle School in the library from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Dorry Cook , Nutrition Services will be serving on the OSEA Bargaining Team, replacing Amanda Ouellette from Transportation.
Next Bargaining Session:
Tuesday, June 17: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Woodland Elementary Library - Begin Negotiations
