Featured Speaker: Nanci Luna Jimenez

Often with fewer resources and greater needs, as we seek to increase access to quality and culturally-relevant education for all young people, we might be tempted to look for tips and techniques. During this plenary keynote, Nanci Luna Jiménez will elevate our conversation around equity, justice and healing. She will ask us to look inward and grapple with internal barriers and biases. She will also invite us to look outward, to name and understand systemic oppressions and their impacts—on us and the young people in our classrooms. Join us as we build and reestablish “Just Relationships” as the basis for renewing our commitment to increase equity in education!

Featured Speaker: Rob Larson, OLN

Dr. Rob Larson is the director of strategic relations at Education Northwest. Dr. Larson has extensive experience in directing large-scale improvement networks in public education. As the founding director of the Oregon Leadership Network (OLN), Dr. Larson leads a statewide alliance that is committed to advancing educational equity through educational leadership development. He also led a research team in the creation of the Leadership for Equity Assessment & Development (LEAD) Tool, which helps enhance schools’ and districts’ equitable practices. Larson has received distinguished service awards from Oregon’s superintendent of public instruction, the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, the Oregon Association of Latino Administrators, and the Education Northwest board of directors.
