Reynolds Welcomes Dustin Janz as Head Football Coach!
The Reynolds School District is proud to welcome Dustin Janz as our new head football coach and member of the Reynolds High School Physical Education Department.
Dustin is moving with his wife Megan back to Oregon after 10 years teaching and coaching football and track in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Both Megan and Dustin graduated from Oregon State University.
For the past 6 years Dustin has been a Varsity Assistant at McClintock High School in Tempe, AZ. During this time, he was the Varsity Defensive Coordinator from 2007-2010 for Coach Mike Gibbons, and Co-Offensive Coordinator from 2010-2012 for Coach Matt Lewis. As a teacher at McClintock Dustin was instrumental in enabling the remodeling of the Weight Room and founding Juggernaut Performance, a training program for all athletes at the high school, that now includes over 250 athletes each day in class. Dustin views this as one of his most impactful accomplishments. From 2007-2010 Dustin was also the Head Boy’s Track Coach at McClintock focusing his individual coaching on Shot Put and Discus throwers.
Prior to being at McClintock, Dustin Janz was a Freshman/JV Assistant and Varsity Assistant at Mt. Pointe High School in Phoenix, AZ., and in 2004, was an Assistant Frosh Football Coach under Arizona Coaching Legend Coach Karl Keifer, the first AZ Football Coach to hit 300 wins. He followed this up in 2006 by coaching the Varsity Defensive Line/Offensive Line. While at Mt. Pointe Dustin was also a Track Coach working with the Boys and Girls Throwers in 2006-2007.
Coach Janz completed both his Bachelors and Masters at Oregon State University graduating in 2002 and 2003 respectively. As an Undergraduate Student, he played on the 1997-2001 Oregon State Beaver Football Team. He was a 4-year Letterman and played every position on the Offensive Line for both Mike Riley and Dennis Erickson. In 1999 he played in the O’ahu Bowl, and then In 2000-01 he played on the team that went 11-1 and beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl ending the season with a #4 National Ranking. In his senior year Verizon Wireless named Dustin 2nd Team Academic All American.
Dustin Janz went to High School in Glendora California where he was a 3-year Starting Offensive Lineman, winning 1st Team All-L.A. Times, 1st Team All-Inland Valley, 1st Team All-San Gabriel Valley and 1st Team All Baseline League his Senior Year. He was one of the Captains for the 1997 Glendora Tartans and was one of 2 Tartans to receive Full-Athletic Scholarships upon Graduation. Dustin also participated in Baseball and Track while at Glendora High School. He graduated in 1997 as an Honor Roll student.
