May 2017 Athlete of the Month

Alison Walton (12), Softball

Alison was the core player for the softball team. She isn’t always the most vocal person, but she leads by example. Her dedication to the sport of softball is inspiring. She has overcome a lot, both on and off the field. She finished the season with six home runs, seven doubles and a batting average of .436. She also had a fielding percentage of .988. Alison received a scholarship to Southern University (D1) in Louisiana. She was select 1st team All-MHC as well as Honorable Mention All-State. She is a team player and pushes herself and others to become the best they can be. She is also a leader in the classroom.

Lucas Dehnert (12), Baseball

Lucas was 5-1 in his last six outings on the pitcher’s mound. He threw a complete game 7-inning shutout in five of those six games. The only runs he has given up in those six games was in the 1st Round of the state playoffs, which was to #3 Sheldon. He’s a great leader and student with a 3.83 weighted GPA.
