January 2017 Athlete of the Month

Annie Luna (12), Basketball

Annie is a team captain and her leadership is displayed in a variety of ways. Whether it’s the steals that she gets, her willingness to run through a wall for her teammates, or her slashing style of offense, she is a true leader on the court. She’s also a leader in the classroom as well, earning a 3.75 GPA. Annie is a great example of a student-athlete for the girls basketball program.

Sam Scarpelli (12), Basketball

Sam a team captain and a 3rd year varsity player. He is second on the team in scoring averaging 12.4 points per game and leads the team in assists at 5 per game. Sam is shooting 82% from the free throw line and is second on the team with 25 3-pointers made. He scored a career high 26 points against Clackamas earlier this in January. Sam is also very successful in the classroom, holding a 3.83 weighted GPA. He has been a positive role model for our team throughout his high school career.
