Raiders Compete at SkillsUSA
Two Reynolds students, Olivia Hall Gomez and Moira Salchenberg, competed at the SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference at the Oregon National Guard Camp Withycombe military base. Both students competed in the Job Skill Demonstration Open. Moira's demonstration of crocheting scored 5th place and Olivia's demonstration of porosity took scored 1st place. Olivia explained porosity (the hair's ability to retain moisture), identified types of porosity, how to test for porosity, and described how to select hair products for hair with a particular porosity. Olivia will compete on a national level at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skill Conference in Louisville, Kentucky in June. Olivia is excited for this opportunity. If you would like to support Olivia's trip to the national competition, please contact Reynolds High School JROTC program.
