Senior Signing Day 2017

Senior Signing Day is an event inspired from Michelle Obama's initiative, Reach Higher. The day is all about recognizing our seniors who have made a decision to do something after high school. Students had either declared that they are going into the military and/or that they will be going to a community college/trade school/technical school/college/university. The National Decision Day to declare what you are doing after high school was May 1, 2017 and our Reynolds Senior Signing Day was just before, on April 25th, 2017. Students had much fun at this event where they enjoyed eating lunch provided by Qdoba, they decorated paper pennants declaring the school they intend to enroll at, and they wore buttons that symbolized each school that they applied to and placed each button on a ribbon sash. Guest speakers at the event were: Renee Irikawa from I Have a Dream Oregon, Casey Ryan the Mayor of Troutdale, and words were given by Assistant Principal John Olsen and College and Career Center Coordinator Lindsay Curletto. Students were encouraged to post on social media with pictures and #ReachHigher and #BetterMakeRoom. Next year's Senior Signing Day will be on April 24, 2018.
