April 2017 Athlete of the Month

Able Taylor (12), Track & Field

Able has found a new kind of success in Track & Field. His talent and hard work have made him our top boy leader (133 varsity points) and he has set a new school record in the Triple Jump (46' 6"). We are looking forward to a top 3 finish at State. This guy is a stud. He has also helped at meets, sold flowers, worked with the middle school kids and been a great role model for the younger athletes.

Peace Igbonagwam (11), Track & Field

Peace does not just sit on her talent--she came to winter track practices and pushed all winter to be stronger. She has more Varsity Points than any other girl has ever scored in one season (and she still has two more meets): 159 Points. (AKA as 15 1st Place Honors and a ton of 2nds.) She will certainly earn 1st Team Conference Honors and qualify for state--we are looking for a top 3 State Finish. She remains incredibly gracious and humble.
