Citizens Oversight Committee

The Citizens Oversight Committee is an advisory group to the Reynolds School Board, formed to ensure accountability during implementation of the 2015 Bond Measure. The Citizens Oversight Committee includes five volunteer members selected to serve on the committee throughout design and construction of the projects. 

Role of the committee

The Citizens Oversight Committee:

  • Actively reviews and reports on the proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money for school construction. 
  • Advises the public as to whether the school district is complying with the ballot measure language. 

In order to accomplish this, the committee: 

  • Receives and reviews copies of construction reports.
  • Inspects school facilities and grounds to ensure bond revenues are expended appropriately.
  • Reviews efforts by the school district to maximize bond revenues by implementing cost-saving measures, including, but not limited to: Mechanisms designed to reduce the cost of professional fees; Mechanisms designed to reduce the costs of site preparation; Mechanisms designed to reduce costs by incorporating efficiencies in school site design.

Committee meetings and documents

The committee will continue to meet regularly throughout design and construction of the bond projects. The committee will issue reports quarterly to the public at regularly scheduled Reynolds School Board meetings.

Committee meetings are open to the public. Meeting minutes will be posted following each meeting.
