Bond projects benefit schools and community

Over the next three years, Reynolds School District will design and construct major improvements to local schools, including replacing three elementary schools, renovating Reynolds High School, and safety and security upgrades to all other schools.
To maximize community benefit from these major projects, the district has launched the Local & Diverse Partnership Program. The program ensures that project contractors provide support to and partner with local and historically underutilized firms, workers and organizations, as well as providing learning opportunities to students, teachers and other members of our community.
“The Reynolds School District is leading the way in delivering excellence, equity and success for our project and community,” says Superintendent Linda Florence, “The Local & Diverse Program ensures that we not only transform our schools, but also set our community up for success on this project and beyond.”
The program will work with contractors to provide community connections through workshops, technical assistance, internships/apprenticeships, networking, and other learning opportunities. The district’s goal is to touch many groups in our community, including:
- Local firms, non-profits and community stakeholders
- District students, teachers and staff
- Trades and craft workers
- Seasoned A/E/C professionals and firm owners
The project team is currently recruiting local and diverse firms, organizations and individuals interested in program participation, including a future Mentor-Protégé program that will launch during the bond projects.
