Attention All 5th Graders and Parents

May 8, 2014, is 5th grade visit day to HB Lee Middle School. Wilkes 5th graders will ride the bus to Lee during the day for building tours and elective forecasting.

May 10, 2014: Welcome pancake breakfast in the H.B. Lee cafeteria. This is a free event for next year’s 6th graders and their families to tour the building and get questions answered.

Enjoy a free pancake breakfast, tour the school, and learn about programs and services for 6th grade students at HB Lee Middle School.

Other Important Information:

  • Forecasting forms will be completed during the 5th grade visit to H.B. Lee. All forms will be collected during the visit, and a copy will be sent home to parents the following week.
  • Students will choose one of the following elective options:
  • Option 1. Year-long music course (orchestra or band)
  • Option 2. Year-long elective survey course (four courses, 9 weeks each)
  • Parents/guardians will need to register students during the open registration, held the last week of August. During this event, students will take school photos (also used for ID badges) and receive class schedules.
  • The first day of school will be a 6th grade student only day. Date TBD.
  • All 6th grade students are required to take one semester of PE. A PE “uniform” is required for this class. The uniform consists of black bottoms and a plain gray top. Students may use their own clothing, or purchase a school PE uniform ($12, in the office).

 

  • Any student who wishes to participate in any intramural sports in middle school, will need a physical examination form completed by a doctor. Summer is a good time to get this take care of.
