Become a Literacy Mentor

A student at Salish Ponds Elementary needs YOU! 

Become a Literacy Mentor!  We are looking for volunteers who can support our literacy program.  We are looking for energetic people interested in volunteering one hour, one to five days a week to support students in the following manner:

• Read with students
• “Coach” students when they are stuck on a word
• Ask students questions about their reading
• Ensure students are engaged in reading activities while the teacher works with small groups
• Help students find “just right” books to read
• Share the love of books and reading!
