FREE Dental Sealant for 2nd & 3rd grade students

PARENTS OF 2ND AND 3RD GRADE STUDENTS

Every year at Hartley the Multnomah County Health Department offers free dental sealants to 2nd and 3rd grade students. We will be sending home a permission slip with your 2nd and/or 3rd grade student today. Please complete the permission slip and return it to school if you would like to have your student participate in the Free program. The Dental Sealants are scheduled for the last week of November are done here at school.

The following is some frequently asked questions, and as always please feel free to call the Hartley office if you have any questions.

1. Do I need to have insurance to sign my student up? No! We will serve anyone who brings back a signed permission slip regardless of their insurance status.
2. How much does it cost? The program is completely free!
3. What is a sealant? A sealant is a coating that is painted on the back teeth to help with cavities.
4. When does my student receive them? A team of dental professionals will come to Hartley school and perform the service there during the school day. Students generally miss 15-20 minutes of class time.
5. What if my student already has sealants? It's still a good idea to sign them up because they are able to do a screening to make sure they are still intact and add more if needed, again totally free of charge.
6. Does getting a sealant hurt? Absolutely not!

PADRES DE ESTUDIANTES DE 2DO Y 3ER GRADO

Cada año en Hartley el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Multnomah ofrece selladores dentales gratis a los estudiantes de 2do y 3er grado. Estaremos enviando a casa una hoja de permiso con su estudiante de 2do y/o 3er grado hoy. Por favor llene la hoja de permiso y devuélvala a la escuela si quiere que su estudiante participe en el programa gratis. Los Selladores Dentales están programados para la última semana de noviembre se hacen aquí en la escuela.

1. ¿Necesito tener seguro para inscribir a mi estudiante? No. Atenderemos a cualquier persona que traiga un permiso firmado sin importar su estatus de seguro.
2. ¿Cuánto cuesta el programa? ¡El programa es completamente gratis!
3. ¿Qué es un sellante? Un sellador es una capa que se pinta en los dientes posteriores para ayudar con las caries.
4. ¿Cuándo los recibe mi alumno? Un equipo de profesionales dentales vendrá a la escuela Hartley y realizará el servicio allí durante el día escolar. Los estudiantes generalmente pierden de 15 a 20 minutos de clase.
5. ¿Qué pasa si mi estudiante ya tiene selladores? Todavía es una buena idea para inscribirlos porque son capaces de hacer una revisión para asegurarse de que todavía están intactos y añadir más si es necesario, de nuevo totalmente gratis.
6. ¿Duele ponerse un sellador? Por supuesto que no.
