Community Transition Program (CTP) Resource services are designed to meet the individual needs students have after completing high school.
Serves:
Students who graduated on a modified diploma who need supports in any of the following: preparing for and finding paid employment, researching appropriate training or education programs to help them reach their post-secondary goals, travel training and other issues related to independent living, and accessing community supports for mental health or food assistance. Students may attend classes at the CTP and/or be provided support in the community.
Activities and Supports:
- Individualized mentoring and small-group or individual instruction
- Designed for students with disabilities who lack direction regarding their future, but once provided with the necessary tools, have the capacity for independence
- Offers support in all aspects of transition with focus on employment, continued education, and independence.
- Provides supported guidance to students in identifying and planning post-secondary goals.
- Assists, supports and encourages participation in community activities and connects students to agencies, i.e. social security and Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OVRS)
- Provides pre-employment training around resume development, completing job applications, interviews skills and more.
