Our goal is to fulfill Multnomah County Library's priority of supporting education and learning by providing support to youth and their families as they learn from home.

Family Newsletter

Multnomah County Library is offering a monthly Family Newsletter to support families through the home leaning experience. They provide tips, tricks, links to family events and activities, and helpful resources. Sign up on their website here.

Weekly Tween Club (flyer attached below)

Multnomah County Library will be starting a weekly Tween Club in February. We will meet virtually every Friday at 3:00 pm. We will offer a Graphic Novel Book Club (1st Fridays) a Dungeons & Dragons Club (2nd Fridays) and a Science Club (4th Fridays)! Soon we will be adding a Minecraft Club and a Crafty Surprise Club. This is an opportunity for kids to meet up with other kids in a safe, online environment and have fun together doing something they enjoy!

El club semanal de jóvenes preadolescentes inicia en Febrero!

La biblioteca del Condado de Multnomah iniciará un grupo para jóvenes preadolescentes en Febrero. Nos reuniremos virtualmente cada viernes a las 3:00 pm. Cada viernes hablaremos de un tema diferente:

Primer viernes: Club de novelas gráficas
Segundo viernes: Club de juego, "Dungeons and Dragons" (Calabozos y Dragones)
Tercer viernes: Club de Minecraft (Todavía estamos planeando este programa, por favor visite el sitio de la biblioteca para saber si ya está disponible)
Cuarto viernes: Grupo de ciencias
Quinto viernes: Grupo de artes manuales sorpresa (Todavía estamos planeando este programa, por favor visite el sitio de la biblioteca para saber si ya está disponible)

Follow the Reader

Children grades K-2 can practice their new reading skills! Each week they'll listen to a story and practice reading with a teen volunteer. This is all done virtually through Zoom. You can register on the library's website or call 503-988-5123 for more information.

Practica tus nuevas habilidades de lectura! Cada semana puedes escuchar una historia y practicar la lectura con un voluntario adolescente. Stories with Friends

Join the library for a virtual after-school program for kids in kindergarten, first, and second grades. We'll be reading aloud from longer books and taking time to talk about the stories and ask questions. There will be book recommendations for emerging readers and social time to talk, tell stories, and share! We'll even have occasional guest readers. Leyendo cuentos con amigos

Acompáñenos a un programa virtual después de clases para estudiantes de Kinder, 1, y 2 grado. Los estudiantes disfrutarán; la lectura en voz alta de libros divertidos en inglés, tiempo para hablar acerca de los libros y hacer preguntas, recomendaciones de otros libros para desarrollar, y invitados ocasionales que no leerán libros. Science Adventure Club

Let's do some fun science experiments! Get together online with some library friends for this exciting adventure involving hands-on science that might even teach you something when you least expect it! Limited kits are available for pick-up for local residents so you can be a scientist along with us on Zoom. For kids grades 4-6.
