Welcome Principal Davis!

Reynolds School District is excited to introduce you to your new Principal for the 2022-2023 school year!

Dr. Ashley Davis comes to Troutdale Elementary School with 14 years of experience as an educator.  Dr. Davis graduated from the University of Oregon in 2008 with a Master’s in Education and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she taught 2^nd and 3^rd grade and was a 4^th and 5^th grade math and reading interventionist.

Being a native Oregonian and after 5 years in the desert climate, Dr. Davis missed our beautiful Oregon seasons and her family, so she made the decision to return to Oregon. On her return, she joined Reynolds School District at Davis Elementary School where she has been for the last nine years. At Davis Elementary, she taught 1^st grade for a year, was the instructional coach for two years, and served as the principal for six years. Dr. Davis has enjoyed and appreciated her time with the Davis community. 

In March of 2022, Dr. Davis completed her Doctorate in Education at Portland State University, her research was grounded in what it was like to be a principal during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dr.Davis's heart is committed to the Reynolds School District, and she is excited to learn more about what it means to be a Tiger! 

Dr. Davis is also a wife and mom. Dr. Davis and her husband Eric just had their first child, Theo, this April. she feels incredibly lucky to be supported by this small, but mighty team of 2!  Becoming a new mom to baby Theo has been a truly a remarkable gift and a privilege that she holds very close to her heart.  During her time away from work she can be found enjoying time outdoors, hiking with our dog, spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and reading.   

Dr. Davis is passionate about education and appreciates the opportunity to work in schools.  She truly cares about students, families, and staff and believe it is her role to support their success.  Dr. Davis commits to coming alongside you as a good listener, a willing supporter, and an honest leader with a kind heart.  She hopes you see these things and more as we get to know one another.  Dr. Davis will be returning from maternity leave in August and she looks forward to meeting each of you.  Be on the lookout for opportunities to connect with her soon.
