Reporting Absences

To report an absence, please call the main office at 503-491-2723.  Any message should include the student's name, student ID number and date of absence.  You may speak directly with Attendance Secretary Celeste Garcia for assistance in English or Spanish.

Auto Dialer

During the year, the school uses the automated phone dialer to inform the H.B. Lee community about upcoming school events. The Auto Dialer calls parents mid-morning each day if students have an unexcused absence. Please keep your contact information at school current to ensure that you receive all Auto Dialer notifications.

Regular Attendance

The average student misses five days or less of school each year.  Our goal is a 95% rate of attendance for the student body as a whole.  We collaborate with students and families to support regular school attendance.  If you have concerns or knowledge about extended absences, please contact the main office to set up a time to confer with a member of our Attendance Team.  Unfortunately, students will sometimes encounter challenges that make it difficult for them to attend school regularly.  H.B. Lee has a team of administrators, counselors, social workers, and secretaries who meet weekly to identify students who may need support to attend school regularly.
